Abstract

Constantly in contact with the external environment from the moment of birth and throughout life, developing protective mechanisms, the lymph nodes are considered as necessary components of normal human life. By freeing the internal environment of the body from excess water, proteins, fats, bacteria, cell breakdown products and constantly replenishing the reserves of lymphocytes, the lymph nodes take an active part in maintaining homeostasis, including the immune system.
